That black ring inside a front-load washer's rubber door seal is mold — it's why laundry comes out musty. We clean the gasket and treat the rubber. About 30 minutes.

One honest note: removing the black stains isn't guaranteed. Stains soak into the rubber itself, so on most jobs they fade a little rather than disappear — but the mold in and around them is completely gone.
